What You Need

Application Requirements

Once on the application portal, you will be asked for basic information about you and your household members. This is a preliminary application to be placed on the waiting list, so official documents are not needed at this time.

Name, Social Security Number, date of birth, and income must be provided for every household member, including infants.

  • Names of all household members
  • Social Security Numbers
  • Dates of birth
  • Annual income for each household member
  • Information for all household members, including infants

  • Full address of employers
  • Complete landlord history
  • Names and addresses of previous landlords
  • Income, assets, and expenses for household members

The special unit requirement question is used to determine whether an applicant needs special features in their housing unit. The need for special adaptations must be verified so units with special features go to families that truly need and will benefit from them.

Applicants may use a friend or family member’s computer or mobile device, a public library computer, or a smartphone. Amsterdam Housing Authority has partnered with the Amsterdam Free Library, which provides public access to computers with Internet access.

If a disabled person requires reasonable accommodations to complete the application, please call 518-842-2894.
